SBC Summit Barcelona to shine a light on payments, compliance and safer gambling challenges
This month’s SBC Summit Barcelona conference and exhibition is set to deliver an in-depth examination of the main safer gambling, payments technology, and compliance challenges faced by the sports betting and igaming industry.
The event for the global gambling industry will take place as planned at Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc on 21 - 24 September, as Barcelona is fully open for business events and has no quarantine requirements.
More than 450 companies will be represented at the Summit, with the delegate list containing a sizeable contingent of payments, compliance, and responsible gambling specialists from major international operators.
They will find plenty to interest them in the Payments and Compliance Zone, which has its own exhibition space, networking area, conference stage and agenda.
On the first full day of the conference, 22 September, the Zone’s agenda will focus on the latest developments in payments technology, KYC, and cryptocurrencies.
It features sessions on how to improve cooperation between operators and payment service providers, the development of a truly frictionless payment experience, the benefits and risks of cryptocurrencies, and best practices for navigating multi-jurisdictional compliance requirements.

The following day will see a full conference track dedicated to the key issue of Safer Gambling take place on the Payments & Compliance Zone stage. The theme running throughout the day will be the practical steps that the industry can take to improve player safety provisions, including the use of technology for the early identification of problem gamblers, the value or otherwise of KPIs, and responsible promotional messaging.
